Research window for this part: January 1 – September 15, 2026 (the research date)
Conduct exhaustive research on every significant Hollywood, celebrity, music, royal, reality-TV, influencer, legal, and entertainment-business story of 2026. The goal is a complete, verified, dated record of the year — what happened, how it was first reported, how coverage evolved, what turned out to be true, and how each story ended or where it stands today (as of the research date).
2026 is the least-documented year in this project. Treat it as a discovery exercise: identify the biggest stories through current reporting, verify the status of every carry-over story from 2024–2025, and flag anything still developing. Expect major developments in the guild contract cycle, the Warner Bros. transaction, AI likeness law, several high-profile trials, the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and late-night television.
The seed lists are starting points, not limits. For every category, find the stories not named here. Aim for at least 200 documented stories across all categories.
Use multiple discovery methods: Google Trends year-in-search data, Wikipedia's "2026 in film / television / music / American television" pages as leads only (verify every item), trade-publication year-end lists, tabloid and magazine archives, court dockets, awards databases, box-office databases, Reddit and social-media archives, and year-end "biggest celebrity stories" lists from multiple outlets.
Build a complete month-by-month calendar of 2026. For each month, list:
